NAME : CUYABENO AND YASUNÍ BORDERLINE EXPEDITIONS

ITINERARY -
The following are the geographical location of the different stops we will be making during our trip:
1ST STOP – 3 days at the Cuyabeno lake system.
2ND STOP – 3 days at the Black water river (Aguas Negras).
3RD STOP – 3 days at Sábalo (on the Aguarico river).
4TH STOP – 3 days at the Lagartococha lake system bordering Perú.
5TH STOP – 3 days at the Yasuní river.
6TH STOP – 3 days at the Tiputini river.
7TH STOP – 1 day at the Panacocha river.
8TH STOP – 1 day at the town of Coca.
9TH STOP – 1 day at the town of Lago Agrio. End of tour.
The next day you will leave from L.A. to Quito

PROGRAM B -


NAME : CUYABENO’S ADVENTURE
LENGTH OF TRIP : 4 DAYS / 3 NIGHTS
ACCOMMODATION : CABINS

 

ITINERARY -
DAY 01 – Upon arrival to Lago Agrio if you fly in your guide will meet you to transport you by car to the Cuyabeno river bridge for 3 hours. After a boxed lunch you will take the Cuyabeno River downstream by motorized canoe. After 2 ½ hour navigation you will arrive to your camp. After dinner you will lodge in huts.
DAY 02 – Breakfast will be at 8:00 AM. Now you start a 3 – 4 hour walk through primary rainforest (Palma Roja), where your guides will introduce you to various medicinal plants. You will also have the opportunity to observe wildlife such as monkeys and parrots among others, and with luck you might even spot a Jaguar. We will be back to camp for lunch. After having a nap you try your luck at fishing piranhas and if weather conditions permitting you will enjoy a refreshing swim in the Big Lake and watch the sunset. After supper you can go on a nocturnal Cayman spotting ride. Back to camp and sleep.
DAY 03 – Before taking the breakfast very early in the morning you will leave for bird watching. Now you hike through the forest where your guides will share their extensive knowledge regarding the jungle flora and fauna. After a boxed lunch you can either go to visit the shaman or visit Tarapuya (Siona community) to participate in the preparation of the traditional dish casabe. After dinner you take a night short hike. Return for relaxation and sleep.
DAY 04 – At dawn if you fly to Quito you pack it up and have breakfast, but if you do not fly you will have an early breakfast before taking the bus back to Quito

NAME : TARAPUYA’S ADVENTURE
LENGTH OF TRIP : 5 DAYS / 4 NIGHTS
ACCOMMODATION : CABINS

 

ITINERARY -
DAY 01 AND DAY 02 – The same as Program “B”.
DAY 03 – Before taking the breakfast very early in the morning you will leave for bird watching. Now you walk through the forest for 2 or 3 hours, where you will learn about the exuberance of the vegetation. After a boxed lunch you go to visit Tarapuya (Siona community) to participate in the preparation of the traditional dish casabe. After dinner you take a night short hike. Return for relaxation and sleep.
DAY 04 – Breakfast will be at 8:00 AM. Now you hike through mature lowland rainforest where you will admire the exotic wildlife, with luck you might spot a giant anaconda or some pink fresh water dolphins (bufeos) peculiar to this unique environment. After a boxed lunch you go to visit the Shaman who will explain you the mystery of the jungle and the power of the medicinal plants. After supper you will relax and sleep.
DAY 05 – The same as Program “B” – Day 04

PROGRAM F -


NAME : AGUAS NEGRAS’ ADVENTURE
LENGTH OF TRIP : 8 DAYS / 7 NIGHTS
ACCOMMODATION : CABINS AND TENT

 

ITINERARY -
DAY 01 AND DAY 02 – The same as Program “B”.
DAY 03 – The same as Program “C” – Day 03.
DAY 04 – After breakfast you will pack it up to continue to Aguas Negras river your second campsite. On the way you will stop to visit the Shaman and have a boxed lunch. After dinner you will lodge in tents.
DAY 05 – Walking. In the afternoon fishing in the Aguas Negras river with luck you might spot a tapir. At night a Cayman spotting ride.
DAY 06 – Bird watching. A walk into the bushes. Visit to Playas del Cuyabeno (Kwichwa community). A nocturnal short hike, with luck you might spot some snakes.
DAY 07 – Return to the first camp. Swimming and watching the sunset if weather conditions permit.
DAY 08 – The same as Program “B” – Day 04.

DAY 08 – Before packing it up you will have a very early breakfast and continuing onto the Aguarico river downstream you will reach to the Lagartococha river which forms the natural border between Ecuador and Perú your fourth campsite.
DAY 09 – Full exploration the Lagartococha’s lake system.
DAY 10 – The same as Program “F” – Day 07.
DAY 11 – The same as Program “B” – Day 04.
